Blog #8
I really enjoyed the Web Design assignment! It was very interesting to be able to learn how to make a website and use the Weebly software. I had never crafted my own website before this assignment, so I loved how I was able to express myself through the design and information that I included on the site. The skills I learned while doing this assignment will definitely be helpful in the future when I have to create a website for my real class or any type of website in general. I feel as though this assignment equipped me with the skills to create more websites in the future, whether they are education-related or not!

While working with Diigo throughout the semester, I have definitely acquired some new skills, including learning how to bookmark and annotate a specific webpage. It has been interesting to see all of the pages that my classmates have been finding online and be able to read through all of them. I feel as though this application would be useful in the classroom because students would have one place to post different articles or sources that they found interesting. It could be a place for students to have a library of sources to be used for different projects or other assignments. As far as the use of the application with other teachers, it could be a place for teachers to share interesting articles about classroom management, educational standards, and other helpful resources that all teachers can benefit from.
One way that teachers can stay up-to-date on current educational technology trends is by subscribing to the Ed Tech Weekly podcast. This podcast posts weekly episodes that talk all about technology and how teachers can use it within their classrooms. It is a great way for teachers to stay in the loop about technology and learn about the research that goes into how technology can be used in the classroom. The website is also very easy to navigate and has links to multiple episodes so teachers can explore previous episodes as well.

Hi Katie!
ReplyDeleteYour website is awesome! Great job with the assignment! Each page is different and it engages me more with your website! :)
Contrast: The text color and font fit perfect on your site and it is easy to read each page.
Repetition: The font and format of each page is relatively the same, so I am not overwhelmed with any different fonts.
Alignment: Every page has correct formating to see that it is nice and neat on the page. Your About Me page proves it, and it is probably my favorite page on your website :)
Proximity: Everything is spaced and organized well in your site. I love the buttons you used for the parent resources (I wanted to do something like that but I couldn't figure it out)
Again, great job on the assignment! :)
I really liked the layout of your website. The color scheme was pleasing and easy on the eyes.
ReplyDeleteContrast: The colors were in good harmony and nothing stood out of place.
Repetition: You keep basically the same uniform font and format throughout the website.
Alignment: The formatting is perfect in this website, nothing seems out of line anywhere.
Proximity: There are no gaping spaces, everything is tightly knit and well positioned in relation to each other.
I thought the contrast of your website was fantastic. The colors were not overwhelming, but very calming instead. The repetition and alignment are perfect as well. These aspect are important because they can be distracting if not done well. The proximity of your website is perfect as well! Great job!
