Surveys would be a very helpful tool for teachers to use both in and out of the classroom. I am hoping to teach elementary education, so I could use surveys to gauge how my students are comprehending subject matter and base my lesson plans on the feedback I receive. I could also use surveys as a way to communicate with parents, either by collecting their feedback on my teaching styles or on school-wide issues. Surveys are a great way to collect a large amount of data in a short time and give teachers the opportunity to easily assess how students or parents are responding to different concerns.
While reviewing my classmates' blogs, I really enjoyed reading through the "About Me" blogs. It's hard to get to know people with all of my classes being online, so I loved being able to get a glimpse into everyone's lives and what everyone is interested in. I actually found that I had some similarities with some of my classmates, which was super fun! I also liked being able to see everyone's newsletters and websites. Each person had their own twist on both of these assignments, and I enjoyed getting to see the individuality of each one.
A technology-related skill that I would love to learn about is eLearning. Hopefully, by the time I become a teacher, COVID-19 will not be as crazy, but I still feel as though eLearning would be a great software to know how to use. Even in a non-COVID world, eLearning could be a very useful tool for posting homework assignments, at-home quizzes, or extra practice exercises that students can do on their own time. I feel as though every teacher should be equipped with the knowledge of how to use this software, especially after the craziness of this past year and the hassle of switching to fully-online instruction.
